Most of our hats, mittens, and booties are sized newborn through 6 months — the period when babies most need them. Some larger sets go to 12 or 18 months. Newborn for the first few weeks, 0–3m for the first three months, 3–6m once your baby starts filling out. If you're between sizes, size up — babies grow into them faster than you'd expect.

Newborn nails grow surprisingly fast, and babies wave their hands at their faces from the first week. Without something covering their hands, they'll catch their own cheeks and forehead with their nails — the small scratches you might recognise from newborn photos.
